Michael and Belinda Watson

Michael and Belinda were both born and raised in the St. Louis, Missouri area. They met each other in high school and married two years after graduation.

In 1987 Michael became a youth pastor at Life Christian Center in St. Louis, with Pastor Rick Shelton and also the home church of Joyce Meyer. Belinda had the privilege of being raised up spiritually by Joyce’s teachings every Thursday at the women’s meetings.

While at a YWAM (youth with a mission) homecoming ceremony for one of the teenagers of their youth group they both received the call of God to be short-term missionaries. They say, "It was such a "God Thing" because we were seated outside of an old open-sided barn type structure (there wasn’t enough room for us inside) and the program was at a silly point where the team of teens returning from Africa were making their way into the building singing their version of ‘In the Jungle the Lion Sleeps Tonight.’ It was amidst all this laughter when Michael and I turned to the other and we each had tears streaming down our faces and said to each other, ‘we have to go.’"

It wasn’t long after that and they did go. They were offered the role of Associate Pastors at a new church starting in Australia. In the spring of ’89 they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend school at Victory World Mission Training Center to receive training. VWMTC offered an intense missionary training program to prepare people who are called to be missionaries in foreign lands. While there Michael and Belinda attended Victory Christian Center, where Billy Joe Daugherty is the Pastor.

Before the graduation ceremony they knew the offer they accepted to go to Australia was just the catalyst to get them to Tulsa. There was no longer a peace to go to the land down-under, so they were seeking God for His answer for what their next move was. They didn’t have to wait long! The following Saturday the whole mission class was required to assist at the churches local outreach and that is where they found our next step.

We met John and Shirley Tasch when John came and taught at VWMTC, they were the Children’s Pastors for Victory Christian Center. We were assigned to help at the children’s tent to assist John and Shirley. We had never seen them in action ministering to the children until at that outreach, WOW! Such an anointing of excitement and the power of the Holy Spirit in their ministry with the children! When the service was over that day John pointed his finger at Michael and said, "I want to see you in Children’s Church tomorrow!" The rest is history. They assisted in children’s ministry faithfully every Sunday and God blessed them richly. The arrival of their first child, Grant, in 1991 was such an exciting time in their lives and 3 years later (in January also) their daughter Courtney arrived. January of 1997 they joined John and Shirley as they started Tasch Ministries International and traveled all over the United States and various countries of the world ministering to children. Soon the ministry base moved to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

Over the years Michael and Belinda, as Mission Directors for Tasch Ministries, have led over 2,300 children and adults on the mission field. Their specialty as a ministry is taking children as young as 8 years old on short-term mission trips. They have ministered in 30 different nations on 5 continents. They say, "Children are the largest unreached people group of the world, that is the nation we are called to so it takes us everywhere."

Belinda home-schooled Grant and Courtney so they could travel with them. She says, "Their life has been one BIG field trip!" They have always been such troopers in everything, Grant is so easy going and Courtney is always going, it made traveling so much easier.

In January of 2005 Michael accepted a position at their home church in North Carolina, Agape Faith Church as Student Ministries Pastor overseeing the ages from birth through 30 years. Since children’s evangelism and missions is such a strong call on their lives they formed Watson Family Ministries to be able to continue traveling and ministering at other churches throughout the year. "This not only allows us to use our gifts but to stay fresh as we network with other children’s pastors and missionaries."
